The World Groundwater Congress 2024, organized by the Swiss Society of Hydrogeology (SSH), the Center for Hydrogeology and Geothermal Engineering of the University of Neuchâtel (CHYN) and the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH), was held in Davos, Switzerland from 8th to 13th of September 2024.
The World Groundwater Congress is the most important international groundwater event organized under the auspices of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). This year more than 1,000 people attended the Congress.
Knowledge of the geological conditions and hydrogeology of a given area is crucial for recognizing the geothermal potential of any region, hence during the session 2.04 Groundwater and urban development geological and hydrogeological conditions for the operation of potential EGS systems in Poland were presented in a talk entitled: Enhanced Geothermal System in Poland - analysis of geological and hydrogeological conditions for the use of water and geothermal energy for energy purposes. The conference participant was Prof. Anna Sowiżdał who presented both in the form of an oral presentation (Poster Pitch) and a poster presentation (Poster Session) the key results of the EnerGizerS project.
